Anthesis
Direction: Hotaru Visual Guerrilla (Spain)
Anthesis is the botanical term that refers to the period during which a flower is fully open and functional.
This natural process favors pollination which is an essential ecological survival function. Without pollinators, the human race and all of earth’s terrestrial ecosystems would not survive. Besides adding color, texture, and biodiversity to gardens and ecosystems, flowers are botanically important structures.
The blossoming of flowers leads us to remember the cycle of life and the importance of nature and also gives us an aesthetic spectacle of vibrant colours and shapes that we can enjoy every year.
Jury special Mention
Threshold Consciousness
Direction: Filip Roca (Spain)
Threshold Consciousness is an audiovisual work that revolves around hypnagogia, the transitional state from wakefulness to sleep. As a digital collage combined with 2D animation and generative code-based visuals, the general mood and flow of the work are calming and slowly evolving. This hypnotic narrative invites the viewer to sink into a deep meditative state.

Place à la déesse !
Direction: Cindy Lo (France)
In this show, the Théâtre du Nord is transformed into a nightmarish machine generating dust and smoke. Its activity makes a mountain called a slag heap grow, a vestige of the industrial era. Several slag heaps are formed, then abandoned. The seasons pass, and become part of the landscape, but what is unsuspected is the nature that comes to settle on the dark earth. Plants grow, become trees. Little by little, the landscape is healed and regenerated.
